Cat and Mouse Party F.A.Q.

This is the faq for my upcoming party, I have included a copy of the physical invitation, in case you have questions about the questions. Some of these questions have been asked, and some of them are just theoretical. Of course you are still welcome to sign my guest book, if you haven't yet done that.
(see the post from a couple weeks ago).

Question: What is the offical name of the party?
Answer: While The Cat's away, the mice shall play.
Question: But aren't there two cats?
Answer: yes
Question:Where are your parents?
Answer: Monday January 23rd My parents enter the MTC (see previous post)
Question: So how many invitations did you print?
Answer: 53ish (but three of them are extra large).

Question: Is it really your house?
Answer: Well yes I mean I think it is. I have seniority.

Question: Seniority over whom?
Answer: Ok so technically, my younger brother, "Hitch" and his wife will take half the house, and I will take the other half, but I think my mom agrees, with me, I have first dibs.

Question: There seems to be a lot more personal information about you here, than even your profile has, do you think that's safe?
Answer. I just now noticed that. that part of the invite will be blotted out shortly. (probably right after the party)
Question: I think I see a typo, What's going on?
Answer: I prefer to call it art.
Answer: oh, um which one were you talking about.
Question: That's not how I spell guarentees?
Answer: That's not a question.
Answer: While I was typing that part of the announcement I couldn't remember how to spell it, so I just typed, my spell checker said it was ok, but I didn't believe it. So I looked it up. yes an actual physical dictionary. The dictionary had both spellings, and While the Denotations had slight variations, the gist of it is the same, so I picked this one.

Question: What about those "an"'s at the end?
Answer: I liked the sound of it. Yes I know there are english majors all over the world going into convulsions.

Question: Will people all over the world be invited?
Answer: Probably not, unless you invite them. I don't have time.

Question: What is Forever PhotoGraphics?
Answer: deleted
Answer: Please read the comments to my other posts, I think it is talked about there.

Question: At the top, on the inside, is a u with an umlaut, Why?
Answer: Ü has sort have become my signiture.
Question: Where did you get it?
Answer: I think I stole it from Arva, but I like it a lot better than sideways smilies.

Question: How do you do it?
Answer: I think I put that in my very first blog.

Question: What if I don't bring anything?
Answer: You don't have to, but the more we have the better.

Question: Will there be Tzatziki?
Answer: Yes Tzatziki will be back by popular demand.
Question: What the heck is Tzatziki?
Answer: I will defer that answer to Julie.

Question: How much food will there be?
Answer: How much are you bringing?

Question: Should I bring Twister?
Answer: No. no. no. no. No.

Question: What kind of game should I bring?
Answer: If you bring an Game bring something fun. And also preferably something that more than four people can play. (yes we could play in teams)

Question: What time is the party?
Answer: Ha ha, funny you should ask. And this is why there is a FAQ page. I guess somehow, some of the invitations omitted the the part about the time, it starts at 7:00ish.
(Good Question)

that was funny. Did your brother really get married? When did that happen? Where is she from? Weird. I love Tzatziki (or whatever its called). Will you have a party when we visit in July so we can come?

Answer, Yes there will definately be a party in July. Yes my brother really got married. She's from Over the Mountain, about an hour. (or from here).

Answer: Tzatziki is a delicious, highly addictive substance that I seem to crave monthly but can only get quarterly (if I'm lucky). :)

Answer II: Tzatziki has come in many different varieties, depending upon Warnser's mood that day and his supply of cucumber and yogurt.

...and it is eaten with a delicious piece of fried pita. Mmmmmmmm.....

can I have a recipe so I can make Joseph make me some? (He loves cooking new things)

RSVP's are not needed. And did you know that that's french? I just learned that last year. Everyone is welcome, twister is still not. Ü
Aye AYE nephi would be grand but I think we have monopoly. Disney Scene it would also get the green light. I think it is the best iteration of the game yet.

Thanks to everyone who has helped define tzatziki. It is true that the recipe is constantly changing, but for those who would like it I will try to post it. It make a ton, so I hope you are hungry, or have a lot of friends.
actually I may see if I can scale it back.

TZATZIKI
8 ounces of plain yogurt.
(I usually look for active cultures)
8 ounces of sour cream, or sour cream substitute.
(Improves the consistency)
1/2 a cucumber
(you're cuc' should be in really small peices I usually shred it, but you can chop it if you prefer.
Also I think it helps to eliminate some of the cuc' juice)

Some lemon juice, not too much but like 1 Tbls. (I just pour in a little)
3 Tbls. Olive oil.
(your olive oil can make or break a dish. I usually buy mine at the Greek Fest, but I hear Costco has good stuff too. (actually I just tasted Albertsons brand and I would buy it, if I couldn't get the greek stuff))

A pinch or two of Salt
and 1-3 Tbls. minced garlic
(depending on your likelyhood of meeting a vampire, or having a date)

I think that's basically it.
if you have good stiff yogurt, you don't need the cream, but I can't get really good yogurt here.
(you ought to be able to cut it)

Enjoy.

P.s. I not sure if I normally use parsley or not, but I think I am using it this time,

Ohhh. I have mint now,
I might add a bit of that too.

Warnser,
I just have to tell you how entertaining your blog is.
Wish that I were invited to your party.

I was thinking YES to the chocolate fountain, but I seriously can't think of a good way to transport it. It's looking pretty doubtful at this point.

I'm glad you wrote the recipe for Tzatziki because someday you may not be around to make it for me (I don't mean that you'll be dead, though someday you will die, I mean that you or I or both of us will have moved away). Until that happens, I don't plan on ever making it for myself. You do too good a job. :)

CJane, I'm sure I can safely say that you ARE invited to W's party! I would LOVE it if you came since I haven't seen you for years and years! Come on down - the weather is... cold, but it can't be worse than where you are. :)

Don't tempt me Julie.
Can I bring our famous rice and beans dish???

C. Jane Kendrick said...

Also, Warnser, may I put a link to your blog on my blog? It is worthy of a link -but I wanted to run it past you first.
You know, manners and all.

warnser said...

And dill, did I mention dill? Add some dill.

C jane,
I didn't even know that you were reading my blog. If you want to come to the party, you certainly could (note: everyone's invited, just not everyone knows it)(all the information is here) And I love that you enjoy my blog. Also you can definately add my link... I guess it is polite to ask, but I hadn't yet thought of that.

Hey, she didn't put a comment in that one where everyone was supposed to sign in, did she? And yes, your blog is fun...it must be, you always get way more comments than mine does. I must not write about things anyone else can relate to, Oh well.
How much dill?

I went to a party with a chocolate fountain once. It was fun to watch, but way too rich for me!

julie said...

Great party! I had a lot of fun and the Tzatziki was fabulous. Thanks! :)

warnser said...

Thanks to everyone who came, and who helped make this party a success. Question: How many people did come?
Answer: I've never seen so many people before in my life. So much for bad roads. I think it was about 35.

Julie I'm glad you liked it.

I repent for coming late. I didn't get the REAL tzatziki. I only got to taste the second batch. I was loving the pita, though!

Thank you Warnser for the great party and great Tzatziki.

I apologize to the rest of you who did not get to eat very much or any of it, due to my overdosing. Yum!
